The Big Trip

We spent almost 3 weeks away from home this holiday season. We went with my parents and oldest brother to Colorado for a week. Natalie LOVED the 3 feet of snow we got. Sledding was her favorite thing to do, although she also enjoyed eating the snow and the snowmen we got to make. She also loved playing with Nana, Papa and Uncle AJ. She convinced all of them to play her iXL with her for hours so we were able to go out to eat twice as well as do a little shopping. The adult alone time was fantastic!! Unfortunately, my favorite beer at my favorite brewery wasn't available yet. Oh well!! We did an early Christmas with them before heading to CT for some time with Paul's family. We got to have a rambunctious Christmas with all the grandchildren (8 yrs ,4 yrs,3 yrs , 2 yrs and 4 months) as well as the aunts, uncle and grandparents. We also were honored to attend our nephew's baptism and found out we are also his godparents. He is an adorable little Sammy!! We hit our favorite pizza place, Pepe's, as well as some other "real" pizza joints. We spent New Year's Eve with all the nieces and nephews again. Natalie's Papa (Laura's dad) gave her some 2011 headbands that we shared with all the kids. Natalie is getting better at playing with her cousins, even though she is still a bit overwhelmed by them. When we returned home (after a 13 hr delay at the airport in Hartford...highly DON'T recommend it...and getting home at 12:30am), we found that Santa had left a Barbie convertible and Barbie vacation house for Natalie. We also found a few other presents from relatives in the mail. And so the 2-month present-fest is over. With her birthday in November and relatives not living near, we end up opening gifts for about 6 weeks straight. And as thankful as we are for all the gifts, I am glad another year has come to an end and I have no more thank-you notes to write!!
