Answers please

I go back for my follow-up tomorrow with the neurologist. Hopefully they will be able to tell me what is causing the random shaking I have been experiencing for 2 months now. Then ran 4 different tests last week and haven't given me any results yet. And hopefully this won't be another 4 HOUR appointment! Keeping my fingers crossed!

One week later...

Well if you had asked me at noon last Saturday how the potty training was going, I would have laughed and said "What training??". We had gone through about 16 outfits at that point. BUT after quiet time, it somehow clicked. She stayed dry the rest of the day..and all day Sunday..and basically all week. I think we have only had 2-3 accidents since noon last Saturday! Although we have been putting her in Pull-Ups for quiet time and at night, she is staying dry then too. We haven't ventured out of the house with Pull-Ups (except for school) yet, but she has stayed dry all week even when we are out! HOORAY!!! So much easier this time around. Guess she was finally ready for it!

On a side note, one of my childhood friends, Toby Guinn, was in Hartsville this week teaching a master voice class and giving a recital. Paul was out of town that day so Natalie and I went out to lunch with him. Think it has been about 10 years since I've seen him. And the recital was FANTASTIC!!! Such an incredible operatic voice! After the first song, Paul leaned over to me and said "You had to sing against that???...HOW???". For those you don't know or don't remember, about 16 years ago, when we were in high school, our community theater did "Meet Me in St Louis" and Toby had the male lead and I had the female lead!

How to Spend the Weekend Before Valentine's Day

Well, if you are in our household, this weekend will be filled with laundry, cleaning the floors, a stubborn 3 year old, **hopefully** some rewards, and a battle of wills...That's right folks! We are tackling potty training AGAIN this weekend. As a recap, we potty trained, somewhat successfully, back in July. But we then drove 16 hrs in the car in one day and decided that Pull-Ups were fine for the trip....BIG MISTAKE. So we have been in Pull-Ups (rather than diapers) since August. And realistically, I am fed up with paying for them and having to change them! So we are going to attempt the 3 day training again..hopefully sending Natalie to school on Monday at least trained to pee on the potty. (We are not holding our breath for the other just yet). The last time we were all so fed up with each other by the end of it that we SWORE we would never do it again. But here we go!!!
So if you don't see or hear from me on here or FB all weekend, now you know why. And if you see me on Monday and I look like I could strangle someone (no not my precious child) instead of being all lovey-dovey Valentine-y, you know why! Here's hoping we have a smoother time this time!
(Yes this is Natalie trying to climb in the potty when she was about 1.5. We were packing boxes in Tucson and found her in our bathroom, with toilet paper wet and thrown against the glass shower doors, and trying to climb in the potty. If only she tackled potty training with such enthusiasm!!)

Mini Vacation

So excited! Paul and I are going to get our 2nd (yes 2nd) night alone together since Natalie was born! My parents are going to come help us celebrate our birthdays (Paul's is the day before mine) and we are going to spend the night in Charlotte while they keep Natalie. Found an awesome hotel deal that included up to $100 at either PF Changs, the Palm, or Upstream (sushi sushi sushi), plus movie tickets as well as late check-out and breakfast the next day! While we LOVE all of our vacations with Natalie, we are really looking forward to having time alone as well as getting to sleep in (which sadly these days means anything past 6:30!). The perfect way to celebrate our birthdays! SO SO SO thankful to my parents for helping this happen!!
